The Russian government is blocking all independent media sources prohibiting them from publishing any news different from the official agenda. Since March 4th journalists can face up to 15 years in prison for reporting “fake” news about the Russian “special operation” in Ukraine.
Paperpaper.ru has been a truly independent media for 10 years now covering social, political, and cultural issues in St. Petersburg and beyond. Today we’re facing what could be our end. Without massive support from our readers we won’t be able to continue our work: publishing news and articles, conducting research and investigations, and the most important thing – keeping our team. Our main source of income today is your donations.
