Today it’s impossible to have unlimited access to the internet without VPN. It’s like trying to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew, travel abroad without a passport, or start a new business without a great team.
Paper VPN is useful both for those who live in Russia and those who are abroad and need to access Russian websites, as we have servers in both Europe and Russia. Both Russian and foreign cards can be used for payment.
Download Paper VPN. Install it to enjoy scrolling through Instagram, see what’s happening on Facebook, look for jobs on LinkedIn, and read independent media outlets.

Still not working? You might have used up your traffic allowance. You can check this in your account or via this link.
If the number you see is zero, then you’ve used up all your traffic over the past 30 days. We have a rolling traffic usage system: just wait 24 hours and you’ll have more traffic available again.
To avoid waiting, you can purchase a subscription with more traffic. For example, our six-month and yearly tariffs are 200 and 250 GB for 30 days.
Do you have traffic remaining, but the VPN still isn’t working? Contact our support team: vpn@paperpaper.ru.
To calculate your traffic usage, the VPN uses a rolling system, which starts from the second month of your subscription. What does this mean?
In the first month of your subscription, you can use 150, 200 or 250 GB (depending on your tariff) and monitor your remaining traffic in your account on the Paperpaper.ru website. Starting from the second month, your allowance will be increased every day by the amount of traffic you used 31 days ago.
For example:
You purchase a subscription on 1st October. On that day you use 7 GB of traffic, then 5 GB the next day, and 8 GB the day after that. This means that, on top of your remaining traffic, you’ll receive an extra 7 GB on 31st October, an extra 5 GB on 1st November, an extra 8 GB on 2nd November, and so on.
In your account on the Paperpaper.ru website. You’ll receive an email with login details after payment. If you’re a member of Paperpaper.ru’s Friends Club or have bought our VPN before, then you’ll already have an account and should know how to access it.
In your account, you can:
Yes. Unfortunately, even a good VPN won’t let you bypass all restrictions. So, if you purchase a subscription to access Russian servers from abroad, you might not be able to open Kinopoisk or Amediateka.
We’ve also experienced problems with installation on MacOS and Windows: sometimes the application can’t be installed on versions of operating systems that are no longer supported by their manufacturer.
Sometimes the VPN might not work with certain operators or providers – for example, on mobile phone tariffs which offer unlimited data.
If you’ve purchased Paper VPN, but it’s working slowly or not connecting, please write to us at vpn@paperpaper.ru — we’ll solve the problem or cancel your subscription and refund your money.
We’re the team behind the media resource Paperpaper.ru. We create quality journalism in Saint Petersburg and Tbilisi, as well as products that help you live in today’s world a little more comfortably.
We know from our own experience how important freedom is – freedom of speech, opinions, and information – and we want everyone to be able to access useful resources.
After independent media outlets were blocked en masse in Russia, so was Paperpaper.ru’s website. For us, Paper VPN isn’t just a handy product. It’s what allows us to keep working: your subscription money will help to pay the salaries of Paperpaper.ru employees.
Roskomnadzor, Russia’s internet censor, usually blocks large VPN services, so the chances of Paper VPN being banned in the near future are small.
